Completing a Design Plan

More then you might realize goes into implementing a design plan; these are details that Interior Designers and Interior Decorators address on a daily basis. The following are questions a professional might ask themselves upon completing a design plan.

• Have I selected fabric for window treatments, bedding and upholstery?

• Have I addressed the flooring and the ceiling?

• Have I selected my wall color?

• Have I addressed my trim?

• Have I selected my wood finishes?

• Do my textures vary?

• Are there at least two patterns?

• Is there contrast in the room?

• Are the patterns and textures of similar scale relative to the size of the piece of furniture or wall they cover?

• Is the bed balanced by a heavy object or print?

• Is there a focal point?

• Is there a thread or color or other feature that holds the space together?

• Is there variety in color or other features so that one item does not make the room look bland?
